In 2022, two developers met at a Seychelles tech meetup and realized SMS verification was broken for crypto users—privacy-invasive, geo-restricted, and KYC-heavy. They saw an opportunity to build a service accepting only USDT and other crypto, offering instant temporary numbers without identity checks. Within months, the team grew to five and launched virtnum.shop, now serving 46,566 customers across 87 countries with over 84,000 orders.
